Coke vs Pepsi round two, Israel vs Palestine bugaboo

Hold the religion
I remember back in my day, my grandfather used to boycott Pepsi products, because he insisted they had at some point supported some kind of anti-israeli sentiment. I later learned that some people actually believed the opposite – that coke was actually the bad one with anti-israeli sentiments. Oh how ironic, are the events of today, in light of all that silliness, where, people are in turn, boycotting various companies for perceived support of Israel itself, now for it’s perceived wrong-doings.
The one thing we never seem to boycott or protest, though, is the religions that were dividing people all along. Why not? It’s easier to gaslight your enemy while you raise child-soldiers and pretend you’re all just innocent, right? Especially when your religion condones it. Deceive your superiors, your authority figures, as long as they aren’t “one of us”, it’s A-OK to deceive. But that donation to supreme leader? Be sure to make it big. He’s definitely “one of us.” Likewise, if your god is the best of deceivers, you know, that’s somehow a good thing, because it means you should keep yourself in check, he’ll “get ya” if you push it too far. Do people forget that war is terrible and people die? It feels like even the vice president doesn’t get it. Ultimately, there are a few holy wars going on right now.
Meanwhile, target specific oligarchs without acknowledging the broken system, essentially playing one oligarch against another, but not really fundamentally changing the system. End of the day, they just shimmy around like catholic priests, so target them as you may, nothing changes.
Likewise harassing a Microsoft or google office executive isn’t going to change what some board of directors thinks – do you think they even care about the safety of those executives? We know how well that worked out for Pharma CEO, and some of the ballsy moves made not even shortly after.
Don’t worry though, even if you give up religion, there’s a new opiate of the masses on the horizon: AI. And these companies will use this as the next tool to keep you suppressed and stupid – because surely, it’s smarter than you, it’s coming for you, it’s actually really great….isnt it? …..Isn’t it….?
